Ascend, A Humanitarian Alliance
For the past 30 years Ascend Alliance Humanitarian has been a driving force in the fight against poverty. Originally organized by Tim Evans in 1982, The Andean Children’s Foundation set out to help those in need. The Andean Children’s Foundation was later reorganized as Chasqui Humanitarian and led by Joel Madsen. Meanwhile, Tim Evans and Carolyn Dailey created their own non-profit called The Engage Now Foundation. These two organizations came together in 2005 to form the Ascend Alliance of today. With almost three decades of experience, we know what it takes to make a difference in the world.
Ascend is a private, non-profit organization, tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. The Alliance operates under the governance of a volunteer board of directors, which is comprised of successful business professionals, experienced humanitarians and community leaders.
We have a strong, local group of donors, partners, volunteers, interns and staff members who contribute their time, resources and skills to further our goals. We are also open to affiliations with other like-minded, humanitarian organizations in an attempt to achieve our mission. It is through these powerful and special relationships that Ascend is able to overcome language barriers and transcend political and cultural ties by directly confronting global issues and promoting intercultural understanding.
